William Shakespeare said, “It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.” And so does many other honest and self-disciplined man in the history and also the ones willing to make an history.
According to me, “Self-discipline is the first and most important step towards a life which is physically, mentally and spiritually healthy.”
To notify you in the beginning, it was just a matter of realization. A moment which makes you aware of your existence and life. And I thank almighty, that this moment came in my life, sooner then never.
It was few months back, when an old lady, who was in her 60’s and also my patient who had her both the knees affected with Osteoarthritis, had no one living with her, her children abroad, her grandchildren used to visit her once in few years and she was just taking care of their property as well as residing there. While she was happy with the training I was giving her for stair climbing said, “My life ended in a blink. Time flies soon.”
And that moment I realized, “I don’t have time”.
and that’s what changed my life. I want to be much productive in life, that I had no option other then starting to get better. I had this endless amount of energy and spark to live each moment of my life, all of sudden. Things started getting clear. Suddenly, I started noticing my curves, strenght, endurence and my mental well-being.
No one but we can start to do things that will makes us better. Re-adapting the old form of living to it’s best.
“Early to bed, early to rise,
Makes a Man healthy, wealthy and wise.”
Recited and learned when in nursery but understood it now.
It’s been 25 days since I am keeping up to my words. To all the promises, I made myself, to keep myself happy and healthy.
I started with getting up at 6 o’clock in the morning and gradually got adapted to 5 o’clock. #the5amclub by Robin Sharma, helped me alot.
Exercise, meditation and eating healthy is my new mantra. I feel so fresh and livily these days. Small milestones of each day is fullfilled and day ends satisfied.
Later in the evening, after reading each some chapters or writing my diary, I go to sleep. A deep and peaceful sleep without any disturbances and distractions. #nomorecryingbeforeisleep😜
So my answer to the question that is, Self-discipline difficult??? I would say, Yes, it is. But at the end, it is worth it. It is worth changing to something better now then never.
Easy steps to channelize your energy into self-discipline:
- Think of a emotional change to always wanted to see in your life.
- Link it up to your real status.
- Analyse yourself and it’s level of disruption, detoriation.
- Now start step-wise-step, gradually.
- Note your schedule in your phone alarm, let it guide you at the start.
- Drink lots of water.
- Exercise for atleast 45mins.
- Meditate, try not to think about anything (which is difficult at first, even I am trying to learn this. You can listen to some mantras, or music to soothen your mind)
- Try to sleep between 10:30-11:00pm.
- Always try to keep a positive prospective towards life. Be good to yourself. Appreciate. Embrace your small goals.
(Hope this was helpful in some way. Revert back with your views and spectrum about the same.)
Happy Afternoon…! 🙏🏻
